You should know:
Atarax is antihistamine and has sedative action by reducing histamine in your body.Atarax treats stress and anxiety, different kinds of allergy and is also used for other conditions by prescribing of your doctor.
Atarax may cause decrease of your reaction and thinking, so do not drive or do something that requires your attention after taking it. Do not drink alcohol before or after you took your dose of Atarax. In case you notice, that you have trembles, convulsions or confusion – stop taking Atarax and call your doctor immediately.
Your doctor should know:
Let your doctor know, if you have an allergy to hydroxyzine, or in case you are pregnant, or going to become pregnant. Be careful, Atarax may harm your baby.
Your doctor should also know about your:- breathing problems like asthma or emphysema;
- high blood pressure;
- heart or thyroid problems;
- seizures;
- kidney or liver disease;
- problems with stomach or urination;
- enlarged prostate;
- glaucoma;
How to take Atarax:
Follow the prescription of your doctor.
You should take your medicine according to your prescription with a glass of water, measuring it with a special measuring cup or spoon. Do not use regular spoon.
In case you miss your dose, take the medicine as soon as you remember. If the time is close to a time of your next dose, take your medicine and skip the missed dose. Never take two doses at once!
